Like many others across the country, I am deeply saddened, frustrated, and upset at the senseless death of George Floyd and so many others, and the racial injustice that exists today. I wanted to share a message I shared with the Pensionmark network.

Pensionmark family,

Our core values state that we are driven by doing things the right way and caring about the people we bring together and the world around us. That includes ALL people, regardless of the color of their skin, gender, or religious beliefs. After the recent chain of events against people of color and as we mourn the death of George Floyd we are reminded of the racial injustice that many of our brothers, sisters, friends, and colleagues face every day. It saddens me to think that it takes incidents like these to reawaken our awareness; I know we can be better.

As a nation, we cannot be at our best unless we stand together. Anything else is unacceptable. Only together can we can help build a safer and healthier world where we can all be the best versions of ourselves.

I am making a personal commitment that we as a firm will strive to not let time fade our memories and that we will continue to advance our efforts to create an inclusive and diverse organization and to help combat discrimination, hate, and unequal treatment of anyone.

We have a long way to go, and a lot of ground yet to cover to heal these injustices. As our communities work through their grief, anger, and fears, let’s do our best to love everyone…always,
